Keeping the Arts Alive with Arena Dances

………..

🎥 Hear about Matthew’s journey with Arena Dances and the impact of the MN PROMISE Act grant.

Arena Dances, a contemporary dance company in the Twin Cities, stands as a beacon of creativity and resilience. Founded by Matthew Janczewski, the company not only offers professional dance performances but also provides classes and training programs for aspiring dancers. Situated in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood, Arena Dances was established with the hope of revitalizing the Lake Street area and contributing to the community’s cultural growth after the unrest.

Matthew shares, "I feel like I was an agent of change in a way. The MN PROMISE Act grant was an incredible and much-needed support during a tough time for the arts."

With many dance companies and schools in Minnesota facing closures due to limited funding, the MN PROMISE Act grant provided Arena Dances with the resources to continue its mission. The grant application process, supported by helpful webinars and workshops, was straightforward. However, as Matthew notes, the opportunity felt "almost too good to be true."
